Thanksgiving Poems

Be thankful

Unknown

Be thankful for home
Be thankful for food
Be thankful for birds that fly.

Be thankful for sleep
Be thankful for flowers
Be thankful for clouds in the sky.

Be thankful for friends
Be thankful for rain
And the rainbows that follow close by.

Happy Thanksgiving,
From Morning till night.
Hope whatever you do,
brings you joy and delight.

Hope family and friends
And those you hold dear
Make magical memories
You’ll cherish all year.

Thanks

For the friends that we hold dear,
For the new blessings on the way,
Let’s be thankful all, today.

May Love and Laughter light your days
and warm your heart and home.
May Good and Faithful friends be yours
wherever you may roam.

May Peace and Plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons
Bring the best to you and yours.

Five Little Turkeys

Five little turkeys standing by door,
One waddled off, and then there were four.
Four little turkeys under a tree,
One waddled off, and then there were three.
Three little turkeys with nothing to do,
One waddled off, and then there were two.
Two little turkeys in the noonday sun,
One waddled off, and then there was one.
One little turkey better run away,
For soon will come Thanksgiving Day.
Five Fat Turkeys

Five fat turkeys are we.
We spent all night in a tree.
When the cook came around,
We were nowhere to be found
And that’s why we’re here you see!
THANKSGIVING

Jammie Harris Coleman

Thanksgiving should be every day
Instead of once a year.
Give thanks each day, give thanks each night,
To Christ who is so dear.

Give thanks each day, give thanks each night,
For all the Lord has done.
He’ll help us fight our battles
Until the victory’s won.

Give thanks unto the Savior,
His joyous praises sing;
In the ears of every Christian
Let the name of Jesus ring.

Give thanks to Him each morning,
Give thanks at noon and night.
Ask Him for daily blessings,
And stand up for the right.

Let each day be Thanksgiving,
For the blessings from above,
For guidance and protection
And His eternal love.

Воспевайте ему радостные похвалы;

Thanksgiving

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you
Let’s all say thank-you
We will all say thank-you
On this special day
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you
Let’s all say thank-you
On Thanksgiving Day!

Many, many years ago
When pilgrims first arrived
Crops were small, this made it all
A challenge to survive
In honor of their hard work
They all gathered ‘round and dined
And gave their thanks at harvest time

We celebrate this holiday
With friends and family
And thank the Lord for all our gifts
This joyful jubilee
There’s turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie
Enough for everyone
Let’s eat and drink and have some fun

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you
Let’s all say thank-you
We will all say thank-you
On this special day
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you
Let’s all say thank-you
On Thanksgiving Day!

THANKSGIVING

When Halloween is gone
And the air turns cold
We’ll know Thanksgiving is on
Cheers spread as thank yous are told.

The dining rooms look so fine
And then the turkeys appear.
We are ready to dine
Thanksgiving is here !

But , I wonder , we have
So much more
With our friends and family
Whom we adore.

So let this joy stay
And let the positivity remain
Let’s make Thanksgiving last
For more than a day!

A THANKSGIVING DINNER

Take a turkey, stuff it fat,
Some of this and some of that.
Get some turnips, peel them well.
Cook a big squash in its shell.
Now potatoes, big and white,
Mash till they are soft and light.
Cranberries, so tart and sweet,
With the turkey we must eat.
Pickles-yes-and then, oh my!
For a dessert a pumpkin pie,
Golden brown and spicy sweet.
What a fine Thanksgiving treat!

Best Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is here, so our minds have turned
To what time has taught us, to what we’ve learned:
We often focus all our thought
On shiny things we’ve shopped and bought.
We take our pleasure in material things,
Forgetting the pleasure that friendship brings.
If a lot of our stuff just vanished today,
We’d see the foundation of each happy day
Is special relationships, constant and true,
And that’s when our thoughts go directly to you.
We wish you a Thanksgiving you’ll never forget,
Full of love and joy—your best one yet!

Thanksgiving Day Is Near

I have a wonderful feeling
As I greet this time of year.
November days are here again,
And Thanksgiving Day is near.

Orange pumpkins make their way
Into our many market places.
We’ll bake many pumpkin pies
To be in our guests’ good graces.

Turkey farms are gearing up
For the biggest sale of the year.
Many families look forward
To seeing grandparents so dear.

As we all gather together
For a special Thanksgiving dinner,
Let’s thank God for salvation
He provides for each lost sinner.

Let us thank God for our bounty,
For so much food on the plate.
He is ever worthy to be praised
For His blessings are so great!

Thank You Lord

I thank you Lord for hearing me
When I get on my knees to pray
I thank you Lord every day for life
As I go from day to day.

I thank you Lord for your sacrifice
When you died on the cross for me
I once walked through life being blinded
But, because of you I now can see.

I thank you Lord for the miracles you send
Your love, forgiveness and grace
I thank you Lord for carrying me
When I could no longer set the pace.

I thank you Lord for lifting me
My spirit you lift so high
I thank you Lord when I’m feeling down
’cause you give me the will to try.

You gave me the path to eternal life
And, only you my Lord know when
The day I can thank you face to face
In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank You For Inviting Us

Thank you for inviting us
To your Thanksgiving dinner.
A day spent in your company
Is invariably a winner.

Thank you for the time you spent
Preparing all the food;
For making us feel welcome,
You have our gratitude!

Joanna Fuchs

We’re Thankful For…

We’re thankful for the basics:
food, clothing and comfortable shelter;
the rest is a bountiful bonus.
We’re thankful for work, play,
and the treasured people
who make these experiences
richer and more meaningful.
We’re most thankful
for family and friends,
especially the dear friends
who are reading this card!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Delights

On Thanksgiving Day we’re thankful for
Our blessings all year through,
For family we dearly love,
For good friends, old and new.

For sun to light and warm our days,
For stars that glow at night,
For trees of green and skies of blue,
And puffy clouds of white.

We’re grateful for our eyes that see
The beauty all around,
For arms to hug, and legs to walk,
And ears to hear each sound.

The list of all we’re grateful for
Would fill a great big book;
Our thankful hearts find new delights
Everywhere we look!

Joanna Fuchs

Count your

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

Thankful

No ghosts or goblins and trick-or-treats,
No candy or flowers for your sweets.
No gifts to buy or presents to give,
Just be THANKFUL for the life that you live.

Mandy Cidlik

Are You Thankful?

I’m not thankful for anything
And never will I proclaim that:
«I am thankful for every moment.»
Because really
Who cares about family and friends?
How can someone say
Thanksgiving actually means something?
I have always believed that
No one cares about your gratitude
Because it’s so untrue that
Everyone has a reason to be grateful.
Did you know that
Even the most impoverished have a reason to be thankful?
There has to be something because
We all gather to be happy.
That is wrong.
Gathering together in celebration just takes up space.
It’s cynical to think
People don’t deserve to be thanked.
Time doesn’t need to be taken to appreciate everyone and
There is no way to say that.
I will always say
I’m not thankful for anything.

Thanksgiving In The USA

Near the end of November in the USA
Is our national Thanksgiving Day.
We close stores, schools, and banks
And give to God our special thanks.

It is a time for us to celebrate
From coast to coast and state to state.
We think of when the Pilgrims came
To these shores in freedom’s name.

The first Thanksgiving was long ago.
This bit of history we all know.
A time for thanking their God above
Was set aside to show their love.

When blessings came, they had a feast.
They were not sorry in the least
For coming to this vast, barren land.
For freedom to worship, they did stand.

From that first Thanksgiving Day
Until the present one we can say,
«Thank you, God, for blessings great!
You are the reason we celebrate!»

Mama called the doctor and the doctor said
No more turkeys standing by the door

4 little turkeys under a tree,
One waddled off , and then there were 3.
Mama called the doctor and the doctor said
No more turkeys under the tree

3 little turkeys going to the zoo,

Mama called the doctor and the doctor said
No more turkeys going to the zoo

2 little turkeys in the noon sun,
One waddled off, and then there was 1.
Mama called the doctor and the doctor said
No more turkeys in the noon sun

One little turkey standing by the hay,
Looked all around for someone to play
The doctor called and said you better run away
For soon will come along Thanksgiving day.
